Adopt-A-Block

What Is Adopt-A-Block?

For two weeks we will canvass our five streets in the “Springs” area where we have been serving for the past 11 years and ask if there are any small projects we can help complete. The next two Wednesdays we will help our neighbors with those projects.

When Is Adopt-A-Block?

We will be canvassing Saturday, March 24th and 31st serving our neighbors on Wednesday April 4th & 11th. We’ll meet at the church at 6:45pm and serve from 7-8pm.

Who Can Participate In Adopt-A-Block?

This will be a joint project between the adult ministry here at the Vine and Rooted Youth Ministry.

What’s New With Adopt-A-Block This Year?

A third Wednesday night, April 18th, has been reserved to serve single ladies, Silver Edition or those here at the Vine.

February 29 – Pray For Our Missionaries

February 29th

You have been given an extra 24 hours this year. That’s right, February 29…it’s leap year. Would you consider giving 29 minutes of your extra day to our missionaries?

Here’s What We Want To Try
Pick two missionaries that our church supports and pray for them for 29 minutes on February 29th. Does 29 minutes sound like a long time to pray? It’s not really!

Here Are Some Suggestions:

  • Pray for each family member by name. If you pick the Hennings {Daniel, Meagan, Luke, Jade} and the Woods {Dirk, Elizabeth, Abigail} and pray just two minutes for each family member, that’s 14 minutes already.
  • Spend 5 minutes praying for one missionary family’s finances. Pray for God to bless them in supernatural ways. Pray that their current supporters are faithful to give. Pray for new supporters. Pray for their homes and vehicles that they weather well and are not an expense for the missionaries. Pray that they would receive the additional finances they will need for their next scheduled trip back to the US. Now pray the same thing for your second missionary family. That’s 24 minutes so far.
  • Spend 5 minutes praying for them in the Spirit. As you bring them before the Lord, let the Holy Spirit guide you how to pray for them. You’re already at 29 minutes, and there’s still more you can pray for!
  • Other suggestions: Pray for favor in their dealings with their local governments and authorities. Pray for reliable ministry partners on the field. Pray for them to raise up local people to do the work of the ministry in their own country. Use the links below to read up on your missionary’s needs or contact them, let them know you’ll be praying for them and ask how you can pray.

Let Us Know Who You Are Praying For
After you pick your two missionaries, would you click here and fill out this simple form? It will help us track who’s getting prayed for, make sure all of our missionaries are covered and help us track how many minutes we as a church are praying for our missionaries on February 29th.

Food Pantry

Please remember the Food Pantry in your prayers and your giving. We are ministering to families around the area weekly and we are seeing God moving on their hearts and really opening up doors.

We cannot continue this without you and your support.  This is a practical but worthwhile way to be God’s hands outstretched in our community. Please remember the Food Pantry in your prayers and your giving.

You may use the link below to donate a bag of groceries ($30) to the Food Pantry.

Longevity, Peace & Prosperity

We here at the Vine are praying for you and your family to experience God’s blessings and specifically for this coming year we are praying for Longevity, Peace and Prosperity.

May God bless you and may 2012 be a year full of the goodness of God.

Connect Groups

What Are Connect Groups
Connect Groups fulfill the part of our church’s vision to connect individuals to other Christians.  Connect Groups also provide a place where people can be known, cared for, held accountable and encouraged in their spiritual journey.

What Should I Expect?
The ideal Connect Group is made up of 8-10 people who are “doing life together”. Connect Group leaders have a pastor’s heart to pray for their group and be there along with other group members in time of need, but their role would better be described as that of a facilitator.
